Browser Storage Notice
Plenty of websites need several screens to describe the cookies they set. We need far less, because GSTC Blog keeps close to nothing on your device. This page walks through all of it.
A single saved answer
A small card in the corner of the screen asks for your preference the first time you arrive. As soon as you tap one of its buttons, the browser makes a note of the answer in local storage. Local storage is a little like a cookie, with one difference that matters here: it stays put on your computer or phone and is never attached to the requests your browser sends out.
- Contents: a yes or a no, nothing more.
- Purpose: sparing you the same question on every page.
- Lifetime: it remains until you or your browser clear it.
- Access: only pages from this site, inside your own browser. No copy reaches us.
Missing on purpose
There are no measurement cookies, ad cookies or social tracking tags on this site. No outside script sits in the background noting what you read, and there is nothing that sorts readers by interest. Accept or decline, every page loads and behaves identically.
Resetting your choice
Want the card back? Delete the data your browser holds for this site. The exact menu names vary, but the path usually looks like this:
- Go into your browser's settings and open the area covering privacy or website data.
- Search the list for godsavethecream.net, or pick the option for managing individual sites.
- Remove what is stored for it. On your next visit the card reappears and asks again.
Incognito and private windows generally wipe their storage on closing, which means you may be asked each time you browse that way.
Sites we link to
Following a link from one of our articles takes you to a website run by someone else, with its own cookie rules. We have no control over those, so check that site's notice if it matters to you.
